The Design Process

Our goal is to guide the client in making their design decisions, such as proper use of interior space, colour scheme, correct furniture size and placement. We can work with an architect, surveyor and main contractor in developing the overall design.

Every project goes through a design process that has standard phases. Each phase has a purpose and level of expectation. It is important that every phase of the project is delivered with professionalism.

Analysis & Concept design
  • Understanding the client’s requirements and scope of work.
  • Evaluation of premises, existing conditions and furnishings.
Conceptual development
  • Develop the spatial planning to ensure that the spaces are functional and well utilised.
  • Develop the overall furniture, floor, wall and ceiling layouts.
  • Initial selection of overall materials, finishes, colour scheme and furniture.
  • Initial cost analysis of the design with a contractor/supplier.
Resolve & Approve
  • Between the client and designer final decisions are made on the concept, designs and budget.
  • Presentation of mood board and overall scheme.
  • Preliminary set of documents are issued to the client for approval.
Detailing/construction document
  • Working drawings are developed specifically tailored to the needs of the project.
  • Detailed drawings of overall floor, wall, ceiling, light position layouts.
  • Finishes schedule of all approved materials.
Furniture and Furnishings
  • Furniture selection and specifications
  • Detailed drawings of custom designed furniture.
  • Selection of decorative finishes; window treatment, light fixtures, accessories and artwork.
Project Co-ordination/ Management
  • Co-ordination of contractors and suppliers.
  • Expediting the project schedule in conjunction with the contactor and supplier.
  • On-site inspection of work to ensure the fulfilment of the design intent and quality of work are maintained.
  • Inspection of furniture and accessory installation.
